Tonight on Monday Night at the Symphony

Tonight, February 27 at 8 pm, The Classical Station will feature the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on Monday Night at the Symphony. Since its founding in 1935, the orchestra has performed with guests such as Sergei Rachmaninoff, Aaron Copland, and Yo-Yo Ma.

JoAnn Falletta, the Buffalo Philharmonic’s current Music Director, has led the orchestra to Carnegie Hall and on their first international tour in 3 decades. In its 88-year history, the BPO has achieved a reputation as the cultural ambassador of Buffalo, NY, performing in the beautiful Kleinhans Music Hall for 83 years and presenting over 120 diverse concerts a year. Its robust social media presence has helped to build an audience of classical music aficionados and newcomers alike. This season, the Buffalo Philharmonic prepares for a variety of programs–performing Kodály and Dvořák’s folk-inspired symphonies, incidental music by Sibelius for a production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and Mozart’s The Magic Flute, among others.

Tonight during Monday Night at the Symphony, listen to the Buffalo Philharmonic perform pieces by Gershwin, Tyberg, and Haydn. Tune in on 89.7 FM, stream online on TheClassicalStation.org, or download our app!
