Every Sunday evening, The Classical Station presents Preview!, a program featuring new classical recording releases and local arts news. From symphonies to vocal music, from ballet to chamber music, we sample new interpretations of familiar music, as well as some newer music. A regular feature of Preview! is an interview at approximately 7:00 p.m. Eastern when we speak with performing musicians and composers from around the world.

This quarter, our guests will include a diverse cast of personalities active in the classical music world.

  • Award-winning Scottish guitarist Sean Shibe will discuss his new album, Lost and Found, which features music from medieval to modern times played on the electric guitar. He is the recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Young Artists.
  • Zalman Raffael, Artistic Director of Carolina Ballet since 2019, has choreographed over 30 ballets. In 2018, he helped start the School of Carolina Ballet. Zali will tell us about the exciting plans he has in store for the Carolina Ballet’s 25th Anniversary Season.
  • Composer Samuel Adler emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1939. He has composed over 400 pieces including six symphonies and five operas. Dr. Adler will talk about his recording To Speak To Our Time.
