Second Annual WCPE Vinyl Giveaway

Our second Vinyl Giveaway brought listeners from across North Carolina to the station to browse our extensive library of records, discover something new, and take home music for their own collections. We also heard from members around the country who called in with album requests, which we were delighted to mail to them.

More Than a Giveaway

Events like the Vinyl Giveaway are a reminder that The Classical Station is more than a signal on the radio. It is a community of listeners, members, announcers, volunteers, and staff who share a love for great classical music.

Michael Murray’s visit captured that spirit beautifully. As a sustaining member of 15 years, he represents the many listeners whose long-term support helps keep classical music available every day. The signed card he received is one of the ways we recognize that loyalty, and the Vinyl Giveaway is another way we welcome listeners closer to the station they help sustain.

A Tradition Worth Continuing

Last year’s inaugural Vinyl Giveaway showed us how much our listeners enjoy the chance to visit, browse, talk music, and leave with recordings that might otherwise sit unheard. This year confirmed it: the event has become a meaningful way to connect our community with the station and with the music itself.

Sustaining the Music, Sharing the Experience

Membership keeps great classical music on the air. But it also creates opportunities for listeners to become part of the life of the station: meeting announcers, visiting the studio, taking part in special events, and receiving personal recognition for years of faithful support.

To everyone who visited, called in, browsed, donated, volunteered, or simply listened: thank you. The Summer 2026 Vinyl Giveaway was a success because of the community that surrounds The Classical Station.

We look forward to welcoming even more listeners through our doors at future events.
