William Seth Taylor

Seth is a classical music lover, inspired by the selections he heard on the Classical Station as a child. His first recollections of the station were hearing works by Beethoven after learning some of his pieces in piano lessons. The Classical Station soon became his go-to station on all of the family radios.

Soon, his interest in classical music further burgeoned by his involvement in the brass section of the school’s wind symphony. It was during his final years in high school that he was introduced to the music of his two favorite modern composers — Eric Whitacre and Morten Lauridsen, both renowned American choral composers. The sincerity and emotional depth of their works continue to inspire him.

After high school, he pursued a degree in songwriting and moved to Nashville to intern at Blackbird Studio. When he returned to North Carolina, he rediscovered the Classical Station, and the broadcast reassumed its place in his daily listening. It was at that time that he sought to become a part of the team, and has enjoyed every minute since.

Seth’s other favorite composers are Brahms, Haydn, Holst, Salieri, and Puccini, although his time at the station has invigorated his interest in many other composers like Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, and Finzi. Seth likes to spend his free time with family and friends, which usually entails watching British television, playing video games, or watching sports like soccer, NASCAR, and hockey.
