Wake Forest, NC – WCPE 89.7 FM, The Classical Station, is excited to announce the recipients of the 2026 Education Fund grants. Grants totaling $16,100 will help fund music education programs throughout our community.

The Classical Station’s Education Fund plays a vital role in supporting and enriching classical music education initiatives across our region, offering music theory, instrument education, repair and lending, masterclasses, workshops, and scholarships to deserving children who may not otherwise have access to these resources.

The recipients of the 2026 Education Fund grants are as follows:

  1. Burlington Boys’ Choir
  2. Kidznotes
  3. North Carolina Chamber Music Institute
  4. Raleigh Music Collective
  5. SKJAJA
  6. Triangle Brass Band
  7. Triangle Youth Music

Each of these organizations is dedicated to helping young musicians in our communities experience the joy of music by providing accessible, affordable lessons, scholarships, and opportunities to pursue their classical music education.

The Classical Station’s Education Fund is made possible through the generosity of our members, and we are incredibly grateful to our members who choose to support this important cause.

The Education Fund Instrument Donation Program

The Classical Station has an instrument donation program. Through this program we make donated instruments available to students in music education programs and non-profit organizations in North Carolina.

Over the last ten years, the Education Fund has awarded more than $80,000 in grants to numerous music education non-profits in North Carolina. In addition to grants that support music lessons, concerts, and scholarships, we hope that the instrument donation program will help even more students to realize their dreams of studying music. You can help to make their dreams come true and receive a tax receipt for your donation of an instrument.

Gently used instruments in working condition, or with minor repairs needed, are being accepted. We are especially interested in trumpets, flutes, clarinets, French horns, trombones, violins, violas, cellos, and saxophones and accept other classical instruments for band or orchestra.

For more information about donating your instrument, please contact Tanja Greaves at 919-556-5178. Arrangements for pickup will be made on a case-by-case basis.
