Interview: Daniel Powers

This interview with TheClassicalStation.org examines Daniel Powers’s work as both composer and arranger, beginning with the childhood experiences that first made him think seriously about music. He describes how Beethoven, comic strips, formal study, orchestral playing, and teaching all fed into the practical side of his career. Much of the conversation focuses on craft: orchestration, arranging, copyright and licensing, notation software, and the need for composers to build flexible skills.
