Sherman Wallace

We are saddened to report that Sherman passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023. He will be missed.

I was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, I know what you are thinking, Fighting Irish of Notre Dame! I was introduced to music at the age of 8. I was trained on baritone through my local Salvation Army brass band and went on to play in concert band and orchestra in high school. My greatest lessons in music have come through my affiliation with the Salvation Army, and I am currently a solo euphonium player in our local Salvation Army brass band. My affiliation with brass music has taken me all over the world, and I’ve played under some of the greatest conductors of brass music in the world.

Being affiliated with The Classical Station and classical music is a natural transition for me. I have been a great fan of classical music and its composers for many, many years. Being a fan just like you puts me in the enviable position of serving you, the listener, with Great Classical Music at WCPE.
