Emily Moss

Emily Moss has been singing and playing piano for as long as she can remember.  Her grandmother, a former music educator, enrolled Emily in formal piano lessons at the age of five.  Emily studied jazz in high school and recorded two CDs with her jazz band in Nashville, Tennessee.

Emily went on to study classical piano performance for her college education in Georgia.  She sang in her university’s competitive choir and toured England in 2014. While studying, Emily served as an accompanist for a Presbyterian church.  After graduating in 2015, Emily then moved to Portland, Oregon, to hone her ear training skills and play in musical bands.  She toured the Pacific Northwest with a band called Mermaid in China and also debuted some of her own original music in a performance in New York City.

Emily listened to WCPE while living in Georgia and always dreamed of working there.  When she isn’t announcing, she creates art out of rope in a style called macrame. Her art can be viewed at landofluna.org. Her mission in life is to connect with others through music and learning, and art.
