Dr. Jonathan Kramer

Following a career as a concert cellist with the San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Ballet orchestras and the North Carolina Symphony, Dr. Jonathan C. Kramer joined the Arts Faculty at NC State University, where he has taught for 40 years.

He is the co-author, with Dr. Alison Arnold, of the world music textbook, What in the World Is Music?

In 2018, he received the Raleigh Medal of the Arts.
