Carol moved to the Triangle area from St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2010. She had been a strong supporter of Minnesota public radio for decades. She began her professional work as a social worker, but after her children were born, she went back to university for a degree in epidemiology. She worked in cancer research in both Minneapolis and Tampa, Florida, before moving to North Carolina. Love of classical music must run in the genes, because her son got a PhD in classical music composition and now is on the faculty at Queen Mary University in London. She has been a volunteer textbook recorder for the blind for the state of Minnesota for 15 years and continues this activity through a home recording studio. Finding WCPE on the radio after settling in North Carolina was a huge pleasure, and she is excited to be able to work with this wonderful station.
