WCPE Preview! Features Carolina Ballet!

  Interview
With the
Artistic Director to Air Sunday, February 17

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (February 15, 2008)—TheClassicalStation.org announces today that its weekly program, Preview!, will feature an interview with Artistic Director Robert Weiss of the Carolina Ballet. The interview will air during the station’s Sunday, February 17 program that runs from 6-9 p.m.

Weiss will talk to WCPE’s Rise and Shine host David Ballantyne about his many years as a dancer with the NYC Ballet working with choreographer George Balanchine and Carolina Ballet’s performance of Balanchine Favorites.

“It is a wonderful ballet in which we are able to showcase many of the soloists in the company,” explains Weiss

The Balanchine Favorites ballet suite will include the Raleigh premiere of Raymonda Variations performed to the music of Alexander Glazounov and Apollo performed to the music of Igor Stravinsky.

The Carolina Ballet will be presenting the Balanchine Favorites, February 21-March 2, 2008 at Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium in the A.J. Fletcher Theatre. Tickets are available online at CarolinaBallet.com

In central North Carolina and southern Virginia, WCPE is found on the radio at 89.7 FM.
