WCPE Releases Announcer Favorites CD October 3

“A Classical Bouquet” Highlights Great Works from Across the Classical Music Spectrum

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (October 3, 2007) – General Manager Deborah S. Proctor of WCPE, TheClassicalStation.Org, announces today the release of the station’s first two-CD set of announcer favorites.WCPE Releases Announcer Favorites CD A Classical Bouquet offers two hours of re-mastered works from the world’s greatest composers, conductors and musicians.

Over a year in the making, the CD set features works from historic composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, as well as modern composers such as Ronald Binge, Healey Willan and Vaughan Williams.

“More than another compilation CD, A Classical Bouquet is a celebration of the diversity in great classical music,” says Bob Morrow, communications director of the Philharmonic Association. “In addition, the announcer descriptions, contained in the cover liner, bring texture and focus to the human experience expressed by the artists.”

As part of the debut, on Sunday October 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. ET, WCPE’s show Preview! will offer excerpts from the CDs. Host Paul Jordan will introduce the selected works with his usual insight and enthusiasm for the inspirational power of beautiful music.

About WCPE:

With a 29-year history, WCPE is committed to provide excellence in Great Classical Music broadcasting. General Manager Deborah S. Proctor’s leadership has enabled the WCPE community to expand beyond central North Carolina to include regional, national and worldwide listeners. WCPE is one of the first public broadcasters to stream on the Internet and is heard worldwide in multiple formats, including the next generation IPv6. Other radio stations and cable television systems are able to rebroadcast Great Classical Music without compensatory requirements. Because WCPE receives no tax-derived support, the station conducts two on-air fundraising campaigns and two major mail-out campaigns per year to raise needed operating funds. Quarter Notes, the WCPE Program Guide, is published four times a year as a means to enhance appreciation and understanding of classical music. It is distributed to station supporters and is also available online at TheClassicalStation.org/guide. For more information, visit TheClassicalStation.Org or call 1-800-556-5178.
