Zenph Studios' President to be Featured on WCPE's Show "Preview!"

Interview to air Sunday, July 1 at 7 p.m. ET

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (June 25, 2007) Ń TheClassicalStation.org announces today that their weekly program "Preview!" will feature an interview with John Q. Walker, president of Zenph Studios, a Research Triangle Park-based entertainment technology company. The interview will air Sunday, July 1 at 7 p.m. ET.

"The work we're doing will change every aspect of music production in the coming years," says Walker. "Instead of working the way Edison did in the 1800s -- dealing with sound waves recorded in the air -- we can now use the power of computer engineering to replicate exactingly what musicians do as they play."

WCPE's Larry Kirwan will sit down with Walker Sunday, July 1 to discuss the cutting-edge breakthroughs that Zenph Studios has introduced into the music world.

"Preview!" will be playing excerpts from Zenph's recent CD release, Bach: The Goldberg Variations 1955 Performance: Zenph Re-Performance [HYBRID SACD].This is the first of 18 works that Zenph Studios has signed on to release since teaming up with Sony BMG in April 2006.

"Glenn Gould's legendary 1955 recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations is no longer trapped in monaural sound thanks to Zenph's technology. I'm eager to share this performance with listeners," says Deana Vassar, host of "Preview!"

"Preview!" airs every Sunday evening from 6 p.m. -- 9 p.m. (ET) and presents the latest in classical recordings and upcoming classical events.

About WCPE:

With a 28-year history, WCPE 89.7 FM is a non-commercial, 100 percent listener-supported, independent station dedicated to excellence in Great Classical Music broadcasting. Community-minded business underwriters and foundations are among the 150,000 listeners in the North Carolina broadcast area. General Manager Deborah S. Proctor's leadership has enabled the WCPE community to include national and worldwide listeners. Big and small dish home satellite transmissions serve North America. Other radio stations and cable television systems use these services to rebroadcast Great Classical Music. WCPE is one of the first public broadcasters to stream on the Internet. WCPE is heard worldwide on the Internet in multiple formats, including the next generation IPv6. Because WCPE receives no tax-derived support, the station conducts two on-air fundraising campaigns and two major mail-out campaigns per year to raise needed operating funds. Quarter Notes, the WCPE Program Guide, is published four times a year as a means to enhance appreciation and understanding of classical music. It is distributed to station supporters and is also available online at http://www.theclassicalstation.org/guide. For more information, visit TheClassicalStation.org or call 919-556-5178.
