WCPE Hires Business Development Director

The Classical Station, WCPE, announces the hiring of Peter Blume in the new position of Business Development Director.

As head of WCPE's corporate support program, Mr. Blume will represent the radio station to businesses and organizations wishing to underwrite WCPE's classical music programming.

Mr. Blume is a native of Lexington, Massachusetts. He has owned and managed several publishing and printing businesses and has an extensive sales background. He and his wife live in Cary.

WCPE is a listener-supported, noncommercial radio station with a mission of bringing Great Classical Music to everyone. Based in Raleigh, N.C., WCPE has served central North Carolina and southern Virginia for 27 years on 89.7 FM. The station now reaches listeners throughout North America over a network of repeater transmitters, cable TV systems and affiliated radio stations. The station's Internet audio reaches a worldwide audience.

WCPE is a three-time nominee for "Classical Radio Station of the Year" from the National Association of Broadcasters.

WCPE's music can be heard on the Internet in RealAudio, Windows Media, QuickTime, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis streaming technologies. This programming is also available on large-dish satellite Galaxy 12, Transponder 8, at 6.30 and 6.48 MHz. Owners of 4DTV satellite receivers can tune to G5 959. WCPE's small-dish signal is on satellite AMC-1, Transponder 12K, vertical polarization, downlink 11942 MHz, IF 1192 MHz, FEC 3/4, symbol rate 20 Mb, audio PID 5417 decimal or 1529 hex, SID 81.
