To verify WCPE's exempt status on the IRS website:
- Go to "www.irs.gov";
- On the right, click on "Charities & Non-Profits";
- On the right, under "Related Topics", click on "Search for
Charities";
- In the middle, click on "Search Now"; this should take you to the "pub 78" page.
- Under "Organization", specify the name to include> "WCPE";
- The results will be at the bottom of the screen: "Educational Information Corporation WCPE
Radio, Wake Forest, NC" (The 50% limit means that only the first
half of your yearly income in any calendar year is qualified to
be tax deductible to WCPE. So far, we don't know that this has
been a problem for anyone.)
