PORTLAND, Ore. Feb. 27, 2001 - MeasureCast, Inc., the first company to provide Internet radio broadcasters and other streaming media content providers with next-day audience size and demographics reports, announced today that two North Carolina-based stations made the MeasureCast Top 25 list for the week of February 19-25. Taking the 19th spot was Greensboro, N.C.-based Batanga.com, an Internet-only broadcaster of Latin music. Wake Forest-based WCPE/89.7 FM, a non-commercial listener-supported station dedicated to classical music, won the 20th slot.

The top 10 formats for the week of February 19-25 were: (1) Talk Radio; (2) News/Talk; (3) Spanish; (4) Classic Rock; (5) Contemporary Hit Radio/Top 40; (6) Contemporary Christian; (7) Listener Formatted; (8) Alternative Rock; (9) Adult Contemporary; (10) Country. The Adult Contemporary format experienced a 19 percent gain in total time spent listening (TTSL) over the previous week, making it the format with the greatest increase in total hours streamed. The runner up, with an 11 percent increase in TTSL, was Contemporary Hit Radio/Top 40.
