Classical Hangman
This Classical Hangman game was eveloped by WCPE listener Ken Winograd. Ken lives in Merrimack, NH and has been developing educational word-guessing games for decades; his games can be found in schools and homes around the country and around the world.
Ken's hangman game is a fun way to expand your knowledge of classical music. The word that you're trying to guess is either the name of a composer or the name of an opera. When the word is guessed (by successively typing or clicking on letters of the alphabet), information about the composer or opera is displayed (for instance, where the composer is from, what works of the composer are the most popular, etc.) It's simple, educational, and fun for all ages.
The game is configurable -- you determine how many guesses are allowed, whether you're guessing the names of composers or operas, and if you'd like to have the word or phrase spoken when the game is won.
