Thirty Wonderful Years!

Thank you so much for pledging to support WCPE during our Fall Festival 2008! We really appreciate your steadfast devotion in a time of such economic uncertainty. Due to this economic situation, we elected to reduce the fall pledge drive goal to $600,000. Thanks to you, we were able to raise just over that amount. Over 6,000 Members pledged by phone, mail and the Internet. We’re very grateful to everyone who helped with Fall Festival 2008!

Looking ahead, we will still need to raise the rest WCPE’s annual budget of $2.25 million by the end of the year. We’ll try to raise the bulk of this through the mail. We may find it necessary to schedule a few days for a December drive.

If you pledged this fall and are now ready to send in a check, we thank you! Fulfilling your pledge ensures that WCPE will be able to continue bringing you uninterrupted Great Classical Music on the radio, on the Internet, on cable systems and on the satellite.

Certainly one high point of our Fall Festival was the release of WCPE’s new, 30th Anniversary compact disc, A String of Pearls. Over 675 WCPE Members have asked for it already, making it the single, most popular thank you gift of our Fall Festival. If you’d like a great CD and still want to make (or increase a previous) pledge, this is the thank you gift I would suggest. It’s available for a donation of $100 and this three-CD set is well worth it. You’ll really enjoy all of the selections—30 favorites chosen by our listeners. In closing, we all know how important it is that WCPE remain a place where we can go to for solace and reflection—an oasis of Great Classical Music—when times get difficult. With your continued help, we can do that. Thank you for being there for us, so we can be here for you!
