![]() Larry Kirwan Host "Your Classical Lunch" |
Originally from New Jersey, Larry has been a North Carolina resident for 30 years. He received a BS in Math and a BA in Music from UNC-Greensboro. Larry has been with WCPE since 2002. After four years as host of the overnight program "Sleepers, Awake!", Larry was brought into the light of day and promoted to Assistant Music Director in 2006. He continues to act as arts liason, as he has since he joined the Classical Station. And of course, he now enjoys being your regular host in the midday for "Classical Lunch. Besides his work at WCPE, Larry is currently pursuing a graduate degree in practical theology through the Loyola Institute of Ministry Extension Program, sponsored through the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh. Larry also participates in music ministry as a cantor at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest, N.C., and has been known to facilitate a Bible study or two and participate in Saint Catherine's RCIA program as a catechist. And although it is hard to find time to do, Larry has always loved playing drums and hammered dulcimer as well as acting. One of his proudest achievements is his Christmas CD, "A Dulcet Christmas", recorded and released in 1999 with Chris Ralph. Larry is often behind the board, and sometimes behind the microphone, for the interviews that you hear on WCPE's "Preview." |
